  1. This title is accepted by those who know the blues and it’s roots as a misnomer
    . Handy was a talented musician, songwriter and arranger who was confused on the station at Tutwiler by an itinerate guitar player using strange sounding notes on a battered guitar, singing about going to where the yellow crosses the dog. He is the “father” in so much as he wrote orchestrated blues notes to write popular 12 bar songs Beale Street Blues etc.ķ
